i know that standard period is something around 1 month to package become stable, however i would like to stress that once qt-4.6 became stable lyx 1.6.5 became unstable package due to the outliner crashes and 1.6.6 should be way better compared to 1.6.5 in this regard. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
fair enough; 1.6.6 has been there for almost one month anyway
so, is this about 1.6.6 or 1.6.6.1 now?
1.6.6.1
amd64 stable then

(In reply to comment #7) > > once qt-4.6 became stable lyx 1.6.5 became unstable package due to the outliner crashes > > ping! > it would help if this bug were a blocker for bug 297299 so people know about it... otherwise this request will easily be down at the bottom among other 300 stablereq's. also that's not polite. :)
if 1.6.6.1 is supposed to work with qt-4.6, why am I still seeing this? * Be warned that LyX 1.6.x series do not play nicely with Qt 4.6. * If you encounter random crashes consider to build LyX * with Qt 4.5.
because only once 1.6.7 is out all 4.6 related fixes will be done. but 1.6.6.1 is still far better than 1.6.5 wrt the crashes.
ppc64 stable also removed the bad advise of downgrade from postinst: - qt4's eclass is explicitely disabling the possibility of downgrade, because by doing so: - you would break entire KDE desktop, and other built software, because: - qt4 is only abi compatible upwards, new symbols get added
Tested on x86, looks good to go!
stable x86, thanks Andreas
