I ecopied wireshark from main tree and compiled with success. I tried a few binaries provided by the package, they worked fine. Only one thing seems weird to me, I can't get tshark to capture on my wifi interface even with su/sudo. I had to chown $USER /dev/bpf0 to be able to capture. I don't really know how bpf works, but it appears OSX binary Wireshark.app can capture without changing the ownership of the /dev/bpf* files. Arch: x64-macos. The basic case works for me, but for example for USE=gtk more ebuilds need to be imported. The ebuild is imported and most obvious problems in the ebuild have been fixed. I don't dare to keyword, since it has so many deps.
wireshark is in the tree should it be necessary, the keywording can be done through package.accept_keywords
