Exceptions prove the rule. ;) I'll close this as WORKSFORME. The only feasible fix is to change that name to /nonexistentlol5645254325j43i5 or something similarly silly but even then we will not have a 100% chance that noone has such a directory. :)
This _is_ a problem because we have _something_ in the tree that during one of its phases creates that directory… otherwise the tinderbox wouldn't have it there.
$ grep -r /nonexistent /usr/portage/ /usr/portage/app-admin/syslogread/syslogread-0.92.ebuild: enewuser syslog -1 -1 /nonexistent syslog /usr/portage/net-dns/djbdns/djbdns-1.05-r17.ebuild: enewuser dnscache -1 -1 /nonexistent nofiles /usr/portage/net-dns/djbdns/djbdns-1.05-r17.ebuild: enewuser dnslog -1 -1 /nonexistent nofiles /usr/portage/net-dns/djbdns/djbdns-1.05-r17.ebuild: enewuser tinydns -1 -1 /nonexistent nofiles # @FUNCTION: enewuser # @USAGE: <user> [uid] [shell] [homedir] [groups] [params] According to the documentation of enewuser, the ebuilds tagged by that grep request a home directory of /nonexistent for the new users. As I read the documentation and associated code of enewuser, omitting the home directory would have chosen a value of /dev/null.

Fixed in rdoc-2.5.9.
