Description Elias Probst 2010-05-20 08:08:33 UTC
When emerging media-sound/clementine-0.3 it fails with this line:

> clementine-0.3/src/main.cpp:41:25: error: glib/gutils.h: No such file or directory

This file does definitely exist:
elias@e6500 ~ % qlist glib | grep glib/gutils.h
/usr/include/glib-2.0/glib/gutils.h

Will attach the full build log.

Reproducible: Always

The file gutils.h is provided by dev-libs/glib package. And I have it here:
/usr/include/glib-2.0/glib/gutils.h

I can't get clementine to fail this way with any USE flag combination. Somehow flag -I/usr/include/glib-2.0 gets lost in the process for you guys.

Please try upgrading your dev-util/cmake to latest version, cmake-2.8.1-r2, or above.

In this topic on Gentoo Forums, cruzki123 have been able to install clementine-0.3 using gstreamer backend instead of xine.

I couldn't care less what clementine developers support, Gentoo's gstreamer is in so bad shape the xine-lib and vlc backends are preferred over it.
So please stop spamming the bug with unrelated ascii art...

I have upgraded to cmake-2.8.1-r2 and I'm getting the same error.

Include glib-2.0 includedir in CPPFLAGS.

Try this modification to the ebuild (it's a workaround).

With that modifications and this trick:

ln -s /usr/lib/glib-2.0/include/glibconfig.h /usr/include/glib-2.0/glibconfig.h

clementine can be installed.

It works for me now.

same as above but extended

Uh, don't do that... symlinking is usually the worst possible workaround there is.

Try this instead.

I have removed the symlink and mofied the ebuild with new changes. It works.

Thank you :-)

don't know how the includedir got lost in the first place, but the workaround is harmless, therefore:
