The cpufreqd daemon segfaults when there are two batteries in the laptop. This is a known problem and a fix is available: http://tinyurl.com/2vy7cxr The patch actually works with cpufreqd-2.3.4-r2 from portage and fully solves this problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. /etc/init.d/cpufreqd stop 2. plug a secondary battery to the laptop 3. cpufreqd -V0 -D Actual Results: Segmentation fault Expected Results: (none) I have created a test ebuild from cpufreqd-2.3.4-r2 in overlay with just the mentioned patch added and cpufreqd works right now.
I confirm to be having the exact same problem.
Issue fixed by the upstream, latest version released 3 weeks ago. Please bump. Best regards, Kacper Kowalik
Created attachment 232645 [details] cpufreqd-2.4.2 ebuild patch Diff for new ebuild. Looks like the CPU_ALL and lm_sensors patches were included in the release, so this just removes them from the ebuild.
Created attachment 232647 [details] cpufreqd-2.4.2 complete ebuild
in csv. thanks for the ebuild! kind regards Thilo
