This has been a bug in Evolution for some time (see upstream bug for history and my proposed patches). All versions starting at 2.23.5 up until the latest currently in portage (2.28.3.1 at the time of this writing) are affected. I hope my patches on the upstream bug will be accepted by upstream, but would you consider adding them to our tree as well? This is an important issue for me since my workplace uses Exchange. If no one minds, I would be happy to add these patches to our tree - just say the word.
Upstream has accepted my first 2 patches, and committed a slighly different interpretation of my 3rd patch on master and the 2.6.30 branch, as well as a backport to 2.28 branch. Would you consider adding these patches (or allowing me to add these patches) to a mail-client/evolution-2.28.3-r1 ?
From my point of view, I have no problem on letting you to include that *upstream* patches commited to 2.28 branch in a -r1 release, maybe you could also include http://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/commit/?h=gnome-2-28&id=ff2553440bd1f7d76667e71479d50efa1a537e96 and: http://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/commit/?h=gnome-2-28&id=02007387a6104aa1d7c7bdc351189cd055a02a58 Then, if no other team member disagrees... ;-)
Gladly! In fact, I could include all the official 2.28 fixes after 2.28.3.1: http://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/log/?h=gnome-2-28 So far it's just my alarm fixes, the two you mention, and some translation/typo fixes. Any objections from the rest of the team?
Though I suppose the first patch in that series actually bumps the version number internally from 2.28.3.1 to 2.28.4, so maybe I'll skip that one.
(In reply to comment #3) > So far it's just my alarm fixes, the two you mention, and some translation/typo > fixes. > > Any objections from the rest of the team? > We usually prefer to include only bugfixes, if some translation really needs to be updated, probably somebody will complaint and we could include that patch also ;-) For now, I would only include: http://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/commit/?h=gnome-2-28&id=ff2553440bd1f7d76667e71479d50efa1a537e96 http://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/commit/?h=gnome-2-28&id=02007387a6104aa1d7c7bdc351189cd055a02a58 http://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/commit/?h=gnome-2-28&id=63fb1857b99f53fbd2506799049b645fce1c1f0c http://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/commit/?h=gnome-2-28&id=ff323fa4ae85fb293e0f419a5364823b90562216 http://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/commit/?h=gnome-2-28&id=22e540a225da939e9de02912d638402d2353b129
Agreed, I have applied those 5 patches (and no more than that) in mail-client/evolution-2.28.3.1-r1
