Description xo0ox 2010-04-20 15:05:48 UTC
iptables doesn't install the iptables-apply script. This script is useful as an interactiv replacement for iptables-restore.

It's installed as default on debian and i miss this at gentoo linux.

The script and its manpage can be found in the iptables sources. The Makefile doesn't include this script.

Reproducible: Always

Thanks for the suggestion -- assigning it to iptables maintainers

Added to 1.4.7.
Comment 3 Paul Tobias 2010-12-01 10:15:43 UTC
Well, if we want to be thorough we should also install a link named ip6tables-apply which points to iptables-apply if the ipv6 use flag is switched on.

"When called as ip6tables-apply, the script will use ip6tables-save/-restore instead."

@Paul:
You forgot to re-open the bug.

ip6tables-apply still is missing.
