I've compiled and tested media-plugins/gst-plugins-schroedinger-0.10.17 (decoding video) on x86. It seems to work just fine in totem. Reproducible: Always Portage 2.1.7.17 (default/linux/x86/10.0/desktop, gcc-4.3.4, glibc-2.10.1-r1 CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
x86, please go ahead. But media-plugins/gst-plugins-schroedinger-0.10.18 is now in the tree, so I'd prefer that being marked ~x86, or both 0.10.17 and 0.10.18. They themselves have no differences between 0.10.17 and 0.10.18 though (nor the supporting gstbasevideo helper library from gst-plugins-bad package).
gst-plugins-schroedinger-0.10.18 compiles and seems to work here on x86, but: * QA Notice: Unrecognized configure options: * * configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --disable-ivorbis
(In reply to comment #2) > gst-plugins-schroedinger-0.10.18 compiles and seems to work here on x86, but: > > * QA Notice: Unrecognized configure options: > * > * configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --disable-ivorbis > That is a problem gst-plugins-bad, schroedinger is in no way related to vorbis. (I guess) it is present in any package that uses gst-plugins-bad. It shows up for instance in gst-plugins-xvid-0.10.18, which is ~x86 ~amd64. Checking the build log shows nothing is built or installed that should not be.
This QA warning is no real issue indeed. The eclass currently doesn't check what versions of gst-plugins-bad actually have a AC_ARG_ENABLE on ivorbis - ivorbis was moved to gst-plugins-base tarball in that set, so for example 0.10.17 would not show this warning. As there's no ivorbis to be disabled, no ivorbis will be built obviously, and no real runtime issues. Avoiding these kind of innocent QA warnings is tracked in bug 285539
~x86 added, thanks Andreas.
