Description Maciej Piechotka 2010-03-24 02:13:17 UTC
sys-power/pm-utils depends on sys-apps/hal despite being mentioned nowhere in sources and configure.ac and working without it.

Reproducible: Always

Neither of the current sys-power/pm-utils ebuilds DEPEND on sys-apps/hal directly. It must be some dependency of sys-power/pm-utils that does depend sys-apps/hal. Figure out which and reopen this bug report when you've argued in a comment why sys-power/pm-utils should not depend on /that/.

First line of RDEPEND. Underlined.

In fact,

The latest stable release of pm-utils is 1.3.0. You can download it from http://pm-utils.freedesktop.org/releases/pm-utils-1.3.0.tar.gz (md5sum:37d71f8adbb409442212a85a080d324d). It adds support for profiling, and takes over maintenance of the quirk database from HAL. This tarball does not contain the new video quirks -- see the release notes to see how to get them.

1.3.0 is the first version that works without HAL so changing this bug as version bump request.

Hmm. I don't need quirks so that explains why it work w/out hal.

Oops! How did I miss that? 8-)

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 287973 ***
Comment 6 Maciej Piechotka 2010-03-24 18:40:16 UTC
Reopening as it is version bump request now. However I'm sorry for dup - search does not include closed bugs.

pm-utils 1.3.0 ebuild update

(Sorry, since the dup. bug is actually closed as invalid, I'll post my patch here too, just in case)

I've been using this for a couple weeks now without much issue (including some
of the pre-1.3 releases). Since upsteam has commented that the pm-quirks
package will be few and far between, I really didn't think it made sense to
create a completely new package for it.
Comment 8 David Heidelberg (okias) 2010-03-28 21:57:32 UTC
Please get 1.3.0 into portage. Thanks
Comment 9 Tomáš Chvátal (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-04-04 16:10:47 UTC
1.3.0 with fixed configure.ac added to main tree.
