Description Petr Polezhaev 2010-03-20 22:51:34 UTC
There is no such library (libintl) in newest (and stable!) gettext-0.17-r1. There is only preloadable_libintl.so. Removing -lintl addition from ebuild helps, but I failed to get translated 'de' --help output with LANG="de_DE.UTF_8" (it was generated with locale-gen before). Maybe I've just done something wrong.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge dos2unix

Portage 2.2_rc67 (default/linux/amd64/10.0/desktop, gcc-4.4.3, glibc-2.11-r1, 2.6.33-zen1-nord-0.4 x86_64)

Nice breakage for the sake of prefix...

The error comes from this change to the ebuild:
http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/app-text/dos2unix/dos2unix-5.0.ebuild?r1=1.1&r2=1.2
Comment 3 Fabian Groffen gentoo-dev 2010-03-21 08:16:52 UTC
Actually, this is not related to prefix changes, but to changes for platforms without libintl inside their libc, such as nearly any non-linuxish libc.

Anyhow, sorry for the breakage, there was a stray '?' in the use conditionals that I copied. I fixed and checked under Linux that it doesn't pass -lintl now. Sorry for the breakage.
