The .desktop file installed by mozilla-firefox with USE=bindist references:

Icon=firefox-icon-unbranded

while no such (or similar file) is installed by the package. This causes it to be displayed in the menu without an icon.

Thanks for your repot, I have moved the update from out overlay to the tree. It has been ready for quite some time now.
