Phonon 4.4 is not yet included in Gentoo, probably because the package is not provided by KDE. Nevertheless, I think a preliminary version should be included in Gentoo, from the 4.4 gitorious development branch. Could you please provide a new ebuild for this?

Please be aware that the development has moved to gitorious, and a source package is available there, in http://gitorious.org/phonon/phonon/archive-tarball/4.4

This new package would also solve bug #303013.
