I recommend including dvdauthor-0.6.18 ebuild masked by KEYWORD. I regularly see bug reports on the dvdauthor list against the ancient unmaintained versions (eg. 0.6.14) which are of course dismissed. The new maintainer has long ago taken over, is active, and mainly seems to be focused on fixing bugs.

Software changes and this is what comes with version bumps.

Either specify the VIDEO_FORMAT environment variable or place the file video_format with your desired format in the proper place. I've tried version 0.7.0 with Daniel's ebuild and it seems to be working fine.
