After having installed KDE 4.4.1, I have found a problem in using startx.

I get the error

  bash: [: =: unary operator expected

and the desktop environment is not loaded. The problem is inside /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/11-xdg-menu-KDE-4 because the variable $DESKTOP_SESSION is not defined. A simple patch is attached.
