Just a pointer about the upstream discussion, would be probably nice to have redis (and other key-value db) in the main tree.

InCVS now.

CCing the original submitters from the upstream bugtracker, as I'm all ears if anybody wants to be a proxy committer. The ebuild was of reasonably high quality to start with, just needed some cleanups and understanding.

- the pidof stuff was redundant, you just need to make sure that redis can write to it's own pidfile then s-s-d is happy (means changing the pid file path).
- memory limit to prevent DoS
- please file ebuild bugs in our bugzilla too when you file them upstream ;-)
