The loop-aes patch for 2.17 does not work on 2.17.1:
SRC_URI contains "util-linux-ng-2.17-20100120.diff.bz2" which does not apply.
There is no new patch on this ftp yet.

You can find a valid patch in the recent src.rpm package for Mandriva:
util-linux-ng-2.17.1-1mdv2010.1.src.rpm
This package is on rpmfind.net

i'm not digging through an rpm, especially one found via rpmfind.net

there is a new patch on loop-aes.sf.net:

http://loop-aes.sourceforge.net/updates/util-linux-ng-2.17.1-20100308.diff.bz2

applied and compiled fine (cant test functionality)
