+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #306297 +++ Recent media-libs/jpeg-8 update broke JPEG lossless transformations for at least two programs: media-gfx/feh-1.3.4 (see bug 306297) media-gfx/gthumb-2.10.11 (this bug) With gthumb, you can use the "rotate" button at the interface (the last one at the toolbar). With jpeg-8, a progress dialog is briefly shown, and nothing happens. With jpeg-7 (and probably earlier too), everything works as expected. Maybe other programs are also affected, but right now I've noticed only these two.
any messages or warning in a terminal ? Even if it's not really necessary, the ouput of emerge --info would be nice.
Created attachment 220827 [details] emerge-info.txt emerge --info attached No messages at the terminal. The dialog just shows up and then close. Take a look at the other bug, it might give you some hints. [ebuild R ] media-gfx/gthumb-2.10.11 USE="gphoto2 iptc tiff -debug -raw -test"
The upstream bug: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=610667 was closed as RESOLVED, OBSOLETE. I'm afraid you are out of luck with this one, unless you try the latest development series: ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/gthumb/2.11/gthumb-2.11.2.tar.bz2 Perhaps there is a ebuild available in gnome-overlay for testing, unsure, didn't check. gnome, can you advise?
iirc last time I checked 2.11 bump it was labelled development series. Bumping shouldn't be hard if needs be (iirc again).
