Description Ghislain Bourgeois 2010-02-17 15:27:24 UTC
The init script installed by app-emulation/virtualbox-guest-additions-3.1.4 tries to load module vboxadd and to run the binary vboxadd-service. They do not exist. They should be vboxguest and vboxguest-service.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge "=app-emulation/virtualbox-guest-additions-3.1.4"
2. /etc/init.d/virtualbox-guest-additions start
3. ...

Actual Results:
Service fails to start with error vboxguest-service: No such file or directory

Expected Results:
Service should start correcty

New init script

This is the corrected init script. It is the full script since the patch would be about the same size.

I just sent email to both maintainers. This bug was spotted at least at 7th December 2009 and now is end of April 2010. Grhh.
I hope that my email didn't fall into their spam folder.
