There is a nasty bug in the older r6786, which would, for example, return garbage when editing the beginning of multiline html textareas (in dillo). This was fixed in their svn r6915 by AlbrechtS on 2009-10-05. I got it to build fine using the last ebuild, by getting rid of the last (third) part of fltk2-asneeded.patch since upstream's images/Makefile already has it, and by not using fltk2-glibc2.10-scandir.patch (the line number changed, but I didn't need it with my glibc-2.10.1 anyways).
