Hi, It seems this version of gedit fails its download for some reason. The newer 2.28.3 works fine so maybe this version should simply be removed. I haven't managed to find any other bug, forum entry or anything about this. Here's the error: 2010-01-25 17:35:36 (535 KB/s) - `/usr/portage/distfiles/gedit-2.28.2.tar.bz2' saved [4611451] ('Filesize does not match recorded size', 4611451, 1109140) !!! Sorry, I forgot, I did find this http://dev.gentoo.org/~zmedico/infra/distfiles/failure.xml which suggests its a problem in the ebuild.
could you remove your downloaded file, re-sync and try again ? (this is most likely a temporary hickup in mirror sync).
Should've probably mentioned that I had tried that 2 days ago already, but wanted to wait in case it was such a hickup ;) Anyway I tried again and even deleted the gedit folder from portage before the sync but still the same: the downloaded file is >4M, the expected is ~1M
+ 27 Jan 2010; Gilles Dartiguelongue <eva@gentoo.org> -gedit-2.24.3.ebuild, + -gedit-2.28.2.ebuild: + Clean up old revisions, also closes bug #302202. + Somebody indeed broke the file somehow. I cleaned up unused revisions so the file will just be removed from mirrors and you can go on by building gedit-2.28.3. Thanks for reporting.
