skype-2.1.0.81 (ebuild with just a version change) works fine here on ~x86, with USE="-qt-static" and qt-4.6.0!!! No crashes so far (knock on wood)... It has other important bugfixes too, in addition to the qt-4.6.x support, so please update the ebuild ASAP.
