Placeholder until the time is right because I like this app and it should be marked stable. The only open bug is a QA issue that should not prevent stabilization. The only open bug for ldns _has_ an upstream patch already. I'll apply it if needed. :) *unbound-1.4.1 (17 Dec 2009) 17 Dec 2009; MATSUU Takuto <matsuu@gentoo.org> +unbound-1.4.1.ebuild: Version bumped. Keywords: ldns-1.6.3: ~amd64 ~x86 Keywords: unbound-1.4.1: ~amd64 ~x86 Thanks.
I just fixed a dep with unbound, see bug 301257 However, this app is ready to go. To test: 1) emerge unbound & start service 2) modify /etc/resolv.conf to have nameserver 127.0.0.1 as the first nameserver entry. (If it is the only nameserver, then you are really testing *and* confirming that it works) 3) Try DNS queries. I've used it on both x86 (completely stable) and amd64 (mostly stable) systems. Thanks.
The following packages have successfully passed the testsuite and are working well here on x86. =net-libs/ldns-1.6.3 =net-dns/ldns-utils-1.6.3 =net-dns/unbound-1.4.1
Given the release of ldns-1.6.4, we ought to target that. Naturally, it fixes several bugs - some of which appear to be security related (for instance, #292). Indeed, it looks like possible GLSA material.
>Given the release of ldns-1.6.4, we ought to target that. Ah, ok... They also passed the tests right now...looks good to go on x86.
Oh, I guess we should wait. Thanks for the info. We will re-visit the stablereq in some time. MATSUU: Thanks for bumping ldns. Let me know if you have any input as well.
See test instructions in comment #1. Keywords: unbound-1.4.1: ~amd64 ~x86 Keywords: ldns-1.6.4: ~amd64 ~x86 Thanks in advance.
x86 stable, thanks Andreas
Stable on amd64 all arches done
