See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=524902 Basically old messages get marked as unread when you have new mail coming into multiple folders by for example procmail. I think we should get this patches if upstream doesn't fix it before considering 3.0 going stable. There's a patch in the upstream bug but I haven't tested it yet.
Petteri the patch will not go into gentoo until it is reviewed upstream, I done reviewed it and discuessed it with upstream and I am not sure they are gonna accept it, if you would please go into "preference, advanced, general tab, config editor, and change mail.server.default.use_condstore,true to false and restart tb and test.

If you can change the installed defaults setting it to false would be prudent.
Thanks for the report, fixed in tree.
You inserted »pref("mail.server.default.use_condstore", true)« into prefs.js. If I understand this correctly, it should be set to false.

Sorry about that, I thought I had edited the prefs to false but failed, it has been fixed no revision bump.
*** Bug 301947 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I think we should keep this open until CONDSTORE is properly fixed so that users will notice this and not file duplicates. Also reminder to consider before marking stable.
(In reply to comment #7) > *** Bug 301947 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** > I think bug 301947 is a different bug. And the fix is a one-line correction to a call to memset that was receiving params in the wrong order. I've apply the fix locally and it solves the problem.
It seems the fix will be available in 3.0.2, http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/comm-1.9.1/rev/b3934a366006
Fix is in 3.0.2 and 3.0.3 is stable on all arches. Please close the bug. Also, would be prudent to revert the CONDSTORE pref. Thank you.
Please feel free to reopen if bug reappears.
