Announcement for 0.5.21 says:

Major changes in this version:
Fishing tasks and AI have been implemented.
 Tasks can now be controlled more finely by the player.

The persistent server ruleset can now be fully managed from clients.
 The administrative security model has been improved.
 The test suite has been expanded massively.
 Lots of bugs have been fixed.


Looks like cyphesis-0.5.20-gcc44.patch and cyphesis-0.5.20-python26.patch are not needed anymore.

Just copying cyphesis-0.5.20.ebuild to cyphesis-0.5.22.ebuild, removing the two mentioned patches and updating the filename of the -gentoo were enough for successfully emerging on my amd64 box.
