TODO: - Need a confirmation from infra@ that nothing is using default-linux/ anymore, like tinderbox. - Need MIPS to update the remaining 2007.0 profiles to 10.0 ones, and deprecate the old ones.
Lots of hosts still use profiles/default-linux but I don't think any of tinderboxes do anymore. Note also that infra does not maintain any of the tinderboxes. Or really any *.dev.gentoo.org box (cept woodpecker).
You need a PR post about this (and preferably a news item). You are going to break folks (which IMHO is fine; we just need good messaging). The news needs to get out early also; like 2-4 weeks before we do it. -A

The removal date is 2009-12-01, so it's about 5 weeks before. The only directory left in default-linux/ will be mips/*. If they don't sort out the profiles soon, I'll do it for them. They don't have anything special, only passing matching -m<abi> flags based on profile names, matching on machine types.
mips should be done as of today, far as I can see there's nothing blocking us from removing the dummy default-linux/ from tree, but per irc discussion with redhatter, robbat2 had some reason any chance of stating the reason here too?
