Description William Hubbs gentoo-dev 2009-08-22 17:07:00 UTC
Please make sure to add the following packages to the x86 and amd64 live
cd and dvd:

app-accessibility/espeakup
app-accessibility/speakup

speakup is pulled in by espeakup, as a runtime dependency, so you
probably don't need to list both in the spec. I just wanted to be sure
you knew that both packages need to be there, so that software and
hardware based speech will be supported.

Thanks much.

William

This will be added this week, can you provide testing for us? I have one other user who will help with speakup testing I would like to have more, if you can contribute let me know at #gentoo-ten on freenode.

The software we will need is the following:

app-accessibility/espeakup
app-accessibility/brltty

Espeakup will add speakup and espeak as dependencies, so you shouldn't
need to list those. Please also make sure the alsa and portaudio use
flags are set.

accessibility-x86.patch

All,

this patch adds espeakup and the portaudio use flag to the x86 specs.

espeak is written in c++, so in order for software speech to work, we
need to add either virtual/libstdc++-v4 when it comes
out or sys-devel/gcc.

Do I need to write a patch for the amd64 specs or can we use this one for both?

I will use that for both.

livedvd-amd64-10.0-20090909-0915.iso was just generated and it contains requested packages, please test and let me know what else you need.
Comment 6 Fernando (likewhoa) 2009-09-17 09:36:41 UTC
We can close this bug since speakup and family are part of the livedvd, not sure if this is going on the livecd.
Comment 7 nm (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-07-21 02:38:54 UTC
Doesn't need to block the 10.0 release anymore, since the packages are on the LiveDVD.
Comment 8 Jorge Manuel B. S. Vicetto (RETIRED) Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev 2010-12-06 03:36:36 UTC
Closing this bug as the accessibility software is in the livedvd specs.
