new openal has been out for a while Reproducible: Always
pulseaudio backend is supported now so we need to add useflag for it, having trouble getting the multilib patch to work on this one.
Created attachment 197189 [details, diff] ebuild patch the patch got applied upstream, thats why you probably have trouble applying it :) http://repo.or.cz/w/openal-soft.git?a=commit;h=e80e1b6d9f4c31521dd3e6437280c851ea94d82e
i missed to look at the code to make a versioned depend. openal's pulse plugin should work with pulseaudio-0.9.9 and higher, and older versions were removed over a year ago so its maybe not that important, YMMV, but a versioned depend would probaly be better anyway, so, sorry about that.
Created attachment 197235 [details, diff] pa patch Also, heres an important patch, theres an issue if pulseaudio is running and openal attempts to use alsa for output, it ends up using pulseaudio's alsa wrapper which results in terrible sound, this makes it probe pulseaudio first if the order is unspecified. Pulled from a fedora src RPM.
