Hi, out since August 2008. Coin3d claim they were fully OpenInventor compatible. Since OpenInventor development seems to be dead since 5 or so years, I think coin3d looks interesting. I haven't worked a lot with it yet, but IMHO having a maintained inventor implementation would be nice. Unfortunately, this is only GPL'd for non-commercial use (not sure if that is even possible). Science herd anyone? ;) Cheers, b. Reproducible: Always

Thanks for the ebuild, works fine! I also noticed that there is no ebuild for Quarter [1], which apparently is to supersede SoQt, maybe it would be possible to include Quarter in the tree? [1] http://www.coin3d.org/lib/quarter
Is there a reason the java related use flags are deactivated in the ebuild? Quarter-1.0.0 won't build without spidermonkey, so I uncommented the java & javascript use flags.

Created attachment 200541 [details] coin-3.1.0.ebuild Can I get you to give this ebuild a test?
Works for me, although I didn't run any special tests... all my coin-related projects do work with your ebuild :)
thanks for testing. if you hit any problems let me know.
Just FYI, I added media-libs/quarter-1.0.0 to qting-edge overlay.
