This new ebuild pulls from GIT to get the upcoming 0.7.x release, If you are using a 2.6.30-RC or wireless-testing kernel this may be required for you if you want nl80211 configuration interface. In your /etc/conf.d/net you may want to use wpa_supplicant_wlan0="-Dnl80211"

The problem with a live ebuild is, that you cannot trust it to work. It might compile fine to today, but be badly broken tomorrow, which is going to make it harder to find problems. Anyway, I'll add it later, but it will be -* masked, and without any support, since it is impossible to say anything about the quality of the builds it produces.
Yes, agreed that a checkout from a git, svn, or cvs is a moving target and you can not guarantee that it will compile or work. Currently there are 150 other *9999.ebuild files in portage. Having this ebuild available to people with the latest bleeding edge kernels would be nice. Thanks.
Fixed in CVS, should hit the tree within 1-2 hours.
