By default the exim.conf as it is in gentoo does not support mailfiltering by either procmail or maildrop. This is very easy to add and simplifies the use and setup of these mailfilter utilities greatly. I patch will be attached. It is partly based on a debian exim.conf file. I also propose a different patch to the current maildir patch. It is functionally the same, but in my eyes cleaner towards users. Also to be attached. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Created an attachment (id=16396) [edit] procmail and maildrop filtering based on the original exim.conf from 4.14
Created an attachment (id=16397) [edit] alternate maildir patch
is this patch still valid with 4.24?
I have no clue, I'm currently working on a new project, which is consuming all my time. if i have a spare hour AND don't feel like working on VLC i'll see if I can test it again, but i doubt that will be soon.
handing these over to Jay
