On AMD64 emerge of gnome-settings-daemon-2.24.1-r1 fails.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -pvu --deep --newuse world
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
Emerge fails

Expected Results:  
Emerge succeeds

sounds like xrandr-1.3 problem, see bug #268021

Seems like Debian had the very same issue:

Patch:

With the above patch gnome-settings-daemon compiles just fine (at least on ~amd64)

BTW: I haven't read through BUG#268021, but briefly looking at it I see that it is about crashing rathet than not being able to compile.. That makes a difference, right ? Crashing might ne the next step..

Yeah, those are two different bugs. I'm hitting this too.

This one is due to gnome-desktop 2.26 (at first glance).

Please do attach the hacked ebuild. Even better if you can, in addition to the hacked ebuild, package the entire folder ready to insert into an overlay.

hacked ebuild to include the patch proposed by Marcin

To use this ebuild copy the patch into the files dir and rename it to
"gnome-settings-daemon-2.24.1-gnomedesktop-api.patch"

commited as 2.24.1-r2 (because I got screwed by cvs commit actually). Not sure this will be really useful for gnome 2.26 migration anyway. @herd please, a word on this as we have pending patches for this on other packages.
