As far as I have found out until now 'asterisk-chan_lcr' (http://www.linux-call-router.de/) together with the newer versions of mISDN and mISDNuser (http://misdn.org/index.php/MISDN_v2_Download) are needed for the mISDN v2 drivers already included in recent kernels. Are there ebuilds for this new and updated packages coming up?

This is a disaster! There is actually no way to build asterisk with support for BRI cards with hfc based chipsets! See here: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-5996907.html
Comment 7 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2012-10-06 10:39:14 UTC
Per:
https://www.misdn.eu/wiki/MISDN_v2_Download/

It shouldn't be needed with newer kernels
Comment 8 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2012-11-24 20:04:14 UTC
Its removal will lead to the removal of net-dialup/misdnuser and net-misc/asterisk-chan_misdn, will wait a bit more for maintainers to give their opinion

mISDN is a two-components package: a kernel patch (mISDN) and user libraries and tools (mISDNuser).

While recent kernels already ship with the needed patch, the user libraries and tools aren't, of course. They may only be installed via some kind of package. LCR and Asterisk would'n work without.

I would agree on masking net-dialup/misdn, but then I would avoid masking net-dialup/misdnuser...
