Description Tim Weber 2009-03-29 22:38:50 UTC
I can't emerge x11-wm/awesome-3.2. This is the message:

Linking C executable awesome
CMakeFiles/awesome.dir/key.c.o: In function 'luaU_keystore':
/var/tmp/portage/x11-wm/awesome-3.2/key.c:267: undefined reference to 'XStringToKeysym'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [awesome] Error 1
make[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/awesome.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

I'm running a ~x86 system.

Googling shows http://www.mail-archive.com/awesome-devel@naquadah.org/msg00312.html which suggests that the awesome devs should maybe have fixed this already(?).

Sorry that this bug report is relatively short, I can't paste from the broken box _and_ I switched to an alternative keyboard layout just yesterday; it took me more than half an hour to type this.

Using x11-wm/awesome-3.1.2 works. Had to downgrade x11-libs/xcb-util to 0.3.0 though: awesome 3.1.2 requires <0.3.3, awesome 3.2 requires >=0.3.3.

Please post your "emerge --info" and attach the build.log file of the failed emerge to this bug.
Even though you may have big problems adding this information, it's essential for our devs or otherwise they cannot help you.
