Description Nikos Chantziaras 2009-03-25 12:40:10 UTC
I noticed that after updating to mplayer-1.0_rc2_p20090322, SMPlayer can't detect MPlayer's version anymore. Sure enough, mplayer -v says:

  MPlayer 29040-4.3.3 (C) 2000-2009 MPlayer Team

4.3.3 is the version of GCC I use. Is this versioning change intended?

OK, it turns out the "version.sh" script changed in MPlayer's SVN. I am attaching an ebuild patch. Please bump to mplayer-1.0_rc2_p20090322-r1.

mplayer got bumped to 1.0_rc2_p20090530 today but this bug isn't fixed :P

How do I find out who the maintainer is and draw his attention to bugzilla?
Comment 5 Ben de Groot (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-06-01 00:16:55 UTC
epkginfo from the gentoolkit package would show you the maintainer. As you can see the bug is already assigned to the maintainer.

I fixed the bug in the 20090530 ebuild. It's such a minor change that I don't think this warrants a revbump. So just remerge this version after your next sync.

Thanks.

Though I think it does warrant a revbump since it's a functionality change, no matter how small, but in the and that's your call.
