Ahha! Found it! I found this bit in the configure area : [...] checking for dtrace... /usr/local/bin/dtrace [...] Get rid of it and it should be fine. Thanks

dev-util/systemtap actually provides a dtrace binary
Could you please add --with-dtrace=no, so that it doesn't check for it.
Fixed in portage for >=1.4.2 and all ebuilds in the x11 overlay. Thanks
