Description Andrew John Hughes 2009-02-02 20:08:26 UTC
KDE 4.2 has been tagged ~ppc at the level of the meta-packages (e.g. kdebase-meta, kdegames-meta) but some dependencies of these packages don't have a ~ppc tag.

kde-base/bomber **
kde-base/killbots **
kde-base/kapman **
dev-libs/libical ~ppc
kde-base/pykde4 **
kde-base/libplasmaclock **
kde-base/kephal **
kde-base/ksaneplugin **
kde-base/kdeartwork-desktopthemes **
kde-base/powerdevil **
kde-base/kwrited **
kde-base/kdedglobalaccel **
kde-base/phonon-kde **
kde-base/kdebase-desktoptheme **
kde-base/kwalletd **

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -pv --update --deep --newuse @world with KDE ~ppc installed.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Updates of KDE 4.2 metapackages pull in packages without ~ppc and emerge fails with a masked packages error.

Expected Results:
Either all packages for KDE 4.2 are tagged ~ppc or the meta-packages should not have been tagged, thus preventing an attempt to upgrade packages which don't yet exist for 4.2 with the ~ppc tag.

There are some remarks in bug 257114 already.
Comment 2 Andrew John Hughes 2009-02-03 19:33:58 UTC
kde-base/kontact-specialdates **
kde-base/kontact **

were also found. All built and installed fine so could be marked as ~ppc.

This bug depends on the linked bug.
Comment 4 Brent Baude (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-02-05 02:18:26 UTC
I have committed ~ppc for those in comment 1. I am seeing a ton of other breakage, like a bunch of keyword requests never got done or keywords were dropped? ktorrent for ppc for example?

I will work through ppc first; i see plenty of ppc64 bustage too
Comment 5 Brent Baude (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-02-06 13:44:10 UTC
Ok, I do not show any more repoman errors in kde-base for ppc or ppc64 (with the exception of pykde which is a problem for all arches). I am going to mark this bug fixed.

If there are kde related ebuilds that need keywording, please open another bug, assign the ppc and ppc64 arches, and list them and I will be happy to test them.

If this is agreeable, please close the bug.
