Description Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-01-21 20:02:42 UTC
Guys, what do you think about stabilization of net-firewall/iptables-1.4.2-r2? This will saves us from backporting fixes for known bugs in iptables-1.4.1: bug 255113, bug 254496 and probably some others and if we decide on this action we can slack a little bit more and avoid fixing bug 232329. If you agree with me, just tell here and I'll add arches here so it'll be stabilized together with kernel 2.6.28. Such simultaneous stabilization is good since we were told (bug 254435), that this kernel exposes some new bugs which were hidden in <=2.6.27.

*iptables-1.4.2-r2 (21 Jan 2009)

Do we wait the nominal 30 days? HPPA would like to stabilise *-sources-2.6.28* early because these fix a couple of nasty kernel bugs for us.

Only _this_ dep of bug #252467 is currently holding us back.

This revision fixes only known issues and patches to fix are quite small and should not cause any regressions. Since there was no objections and kernel team wanted us to stabilize 1.4.2 long time ago, I think it time to proceed. arch teams please do it.

Hi All.

I know that this is completely off topic, but since 255786 discuss iptables, and did not want to annoy the dev guys with my query which is not bug related by opening a non-bug related "ticket", I thought why not make the best of this opportunity..., please excuse me for just jumping in from no where, but I can't seem to find an answer to this, not even in the change logs...

My query is simply this...

Can anyone pls tell me what happened to the USE flags from net-firewall/iptables-1.4.2-r2, in particular the "l7filter" USE flag?

Thanks,
Wernher

Why don't you simply send mail to the maintainer of the l7 patches? metadata.xml would have told you to direct your queries at <pva at gentoo dot org>. I assume you will not be commenting on this bug any more.
