Description Christian Schmitt 2009-01-05 16:10:01 UTC
This patch makes pm-utils run on PPC based laptops. It prevents the install of sys-apps/vbetool and app-laptop/radeontool for PPC machines, since these packages do not work here.

This was already approved by the gentopia team to "do what you need to do" by the ppc team[1].

Please also note that there is a profiles/arch/powerpc/package.use.mask file with:

# nixnut <nixnut@gentoo.org> (4 jun 2008)
# USE=laptop wants x86 specific packages which can't be build on ppc
sys-apps/hal laptop

This is also resolved with this patch.

Thanks for the patch, ppc has now done what it needed to do. :) I've pushed this to CVS and removed the mask.

I still get the laptop USE flag masked on hal on PPC. Is it supposed to be masked, still?

Yeah, I had to mask the flag again. It will remain masked until this package goes stable. Sorry about the confusion!
