This patch makes pm-utils run on PPC based laptops. It prevents the install of sys-apps/vbetool and app-laptop/radeontool for PPC machines, since these packages do not work here.
Created attachment 177477 [details, diff] disable some deps on PPC Should be applied to pm-utils-1.2.3 in portage
This was already approved by the gentopia team to "do what you need to do" by the ppc team[1]. [1]: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=229763#c8
Please also note that there is a profiles/arch/powerpc/package.use.mask file with: # nixnut <nixnut@gentoo.org> (4 jun 2008) # USE=laptop wants x86 specific packages which can't be build on ppc sys-apps/hal laptop This is also resolved with this patch.
Thanks for the patch, ppc has now done what it needed to do. :) I've pushed this to CVS and removed the mask.

Yeah, I had to mask the flag again. It will remain masked until this package goes stable. Sorry about the confusion!
