could you list out which docbook-xml-dtd do you have installed ?
(In reply to comment #3) > could you list out which docbook-xml-dtd do you have installed ? > Certainly. app-text/docbook-xml-dtd is version 4.4-r1 (the latest available on stable amd64).
This is a stab in the dark, but an idea. x11-terms/gnome-terminal fails in similar ways UNLESS MAKEOPTS="-j1". Could there be something funky going on with respect to parallel jobs? I believe the gedit ebuild sets MAKEOPTS to -j1 if arch is PowerPC...could there be a similar issue on amd64? -- OR -- Is there something about this particular configuration that causes a build failure?
the ebuild didn't specify it needed docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2 so it was probably falling back to getting it from the web which is highly unreliable. Fixed without a bump. If you still have problems, you might want to check that your sgml catalog isn't corrupted. Thanks for reporting.
