Description Man Shankar 2008-12-17 02:19:29 UTC
The ~amd64 awesome-3.1 fails to build if the "doc" use flag is set. Builds fine without it. The last line on the error goes like:

"/rwstuff/tmpdir/portage/x11-wm/awesome-3.1/temp/environment: line 2585: /usr/lib64/portage/bin/dohtml: Argument list too long"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.add latest awesome ebuild to package.keywords
2.enable the "doc" use flag
3.emerge -avt awesome

Actual Results:
Build fails with the error

"/rwstuff/tmpdir/portage/x11-wm/awesome-3.1/temp/environment: line 2585: /usr/lib64/portage/bin/dohtml: Argument list too long"

Expected Results:
Awesome should build properly.

Sorry about that, by CVS i thought upstream. In fact the overlay i mentioned also has the same snippet:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
	if use doc ; then
		(
			cd "${WORKDIR}"/${PN}_build/doc/html/ && dohtml -r * || die
			mv "${D}"/usr/share/doc/${PN}/luadoc "${D}"/usr/share/doc/${PF}/html/luadoc || die
		)
	fi
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

instead of -r1 's

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
     if use doc ; then
         dohtml -r "${WORKDIR}"/${PN}_build/doc/html/* || die
         mv "${D}"/usr/share/doc/${PN}/luadoc "${D}"/usr/share/doc/${PF}/html/luadoc || die
     fi
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you once again.
