Description Joe Peterson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-11-07 17:08:11 UTC
To test, run:

    povray sphere.pov

(I have attached thre file: sphere.pov to this bug)

You should see a window appear briefly while a red sphere renders, and an image file ("sphere.png") should be produced.

Thanks!

Stable for HPPA.

We want -r4 stable for security, see bug 153538.
Marking as WONTFIX as such (not sure whether it is completely appropriate ;o)).
Comment 7 Joe Peterson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-11-13 17:45:41 UTC
Reopening this, since it might not be obvious to all arches that the static libs bug is a stable request.

Note that we want to stabilize -r4 ASAP because of this security concern. Sorry for the timing on -r3, since you all just stabilized it. Just use the same procedure as before on -r4.

Thanks!!

Arch teams usually know perfectly fine when they are supposed to mark a package stable for security. This almost always works and handling stabilization on the security bug makes things easier for us, as we can easily see which security-supported arches are still missing and which are not.
It's not that critical in this case, but please leave stabilization requests for security reasons in their relevant security bug in the future.

Thanks. :)

OK, thanks for the info on that. Will-do in the future! On this topic, was it proper procedure for me to add the STABLEREQ keyword to the security bug? This is the first security bug I've dealt with.

security team does not care, and we do not usually set that flag. i would assume arches have two filters: one with stablereq+themselves in cc, and one with security product and themselves in cc.
