net-im/empathy is part of Gnome starting with 2.24. It should be keyworded on all arches supporting the gnome meta package and eventually stabilized. So here you have the keywording list. Target keywords: ~alpha ~ia64 ~ppc ~ppc64 ~sparc ~x86-fbsd ---------------------------------------------------------- net-libs/libtelepathy net-libs/telepathy-glib net-libs/loudmouth (USE="ssl") net-voip/telepathy-gabble net-voip/telepathy-haze dev-python/pymsn dev-python/telepathy-python net-voip/telepathy-butterfly net-irc/telepathy-idle net-im/telepathy-mission-control net-im/empathy net-libs/libjingle media-libs/farsight (USE=jingle) net-voip/telepathy-stream-engine ---------------------------------------------------------- All test suites should pass and empathy should be able to work correctly with, at least, MSN, Jabber/GTalk and IRC. Videoconference on Jabber may work too. Thanks!
~sparc done
~alpha/~ia64 done
You guys can skip these: net-libs/libjingle media-libs/farsight (USE=jingle) net-voip/telepathy-stream-engine They're unmaintained and they've been superseeded by libnice, farsight2 and telepathy-farsight which should hit the tree soon.
A small update of the keywording list (at least for ppc), we need: net-libs/telepathy-farsight net-libs/farsight2 net-libs/libnice net-im/telepathy-mission-control net-im/empathy And these packages doesn't look to be needed: net-irc/telepathy-idle net-voip/telepathy-gabble net-voip/telepathy-haze net-voip/telepathy-butterfly dev-python/pymsn dev-python/telepathy-python
@volkmar: Empathy is just a UI, you need connection manager for it to be useful. So yes, you need all of the packages below. I should add a meta-package to make it clearer

Well, it should be a separate package because there are other UIs for telephone (Kopete/KCall will soon be one). There is also fama, which is a ncurses UI. And they all share the same connection managers..
Marked ~ppc.
This has become a bit of a mess. I have missing deps all over. Any chance you could make life easier and give me a ~ppc64 list of deps that need to be kw'd?
As I see from the list in comment #0 ppc64 has already keyworded: net-libs/libtelepathy net-libs/telepathy-glib net-libs/loudmouth (USE="ssl") net-voip/telepathy-gabble net-voip/telepathy-haze dev-python/telepathy-python net-voip/telepathy-butterfly net-irc/telepathy-idle net-im/telepathy-mission-control dev-python/papyon replaced by dev-python/pymsn #http://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-dev-announce/msg_be6245c1b1289cc1ba887f3ecb852646.xml But following is still missed (deps of deps are here too): net-im/empathy net-libs/webkit-gtk net-libs/telepathy-farsight net-voip/telepathy-connection-managers net-voip/telepathy-sofiasip net-libs/sofia-sip net-voip/telepathy-salut app-text/xmldiff net-libs/farsight2 media-plugins/gst-plugins-mimic media-libs/libmimic net-libs/libnice net-libs/gupnp-igd net-libs/gupnp-0.12.8 (-12* required by gupnp-igd-0.1.3, still may be it's good idea to keyword later versions too) net-libs/gssdp net-voip/telepathy-stream-engine media-libs/farsight media-plugins/gst-plugins-farsight media-libs/libj2k net-libs/libjingle HTH
You dont need these: net-voip/telepathy-stream-engine media-libs/farsight media-plugins/gst-plugins-farsight media-libs/libj2k net-libs/libjingle
I fail to see the need for this, no user has requested it for bsd/ppc64.
well, at some point it will be added to gnome meta...
