I installed asymptote. When trying to execute /usr/bin/xasy, the GUI to asymptote, nothing happened. On checking, I found, that /usr/bin/xasy links to /usr/share/asymptote/GUI/xasy.py which is not made executable, like the other python files in this folder. Performing a chmod +x /usr/share/asymptote/GUI/*.py solved the problem.

Thanks, I've fixed this, and also committed asymptote-1.47. It seems that in this new version xasy does not work - produces python errors. I've filed this to the asymptote bugzilla.
