this sounds like an upstream problem. Do you want points or shall we do it for
you ?

------- Comment #2 From Phy 2008-10-22 01:00:57 0000 -------
Go ahead and fix it; I can't code.
Thanks.

Gilles meant "do you want to open a bug on Gnome' bugzilla yourself?"...

Thanks

Fixed upstream. Selecting no longer freezes the terminal.
VTE now requires dev-util/glade to build.

------- Comment #6 From Mart Raudsepp 2008-10-28 11:37:54 0000 -------
Reopening. We don't have that fix yet.

... and fixed with 0.17.4-r1 by grabbing the patch in, as a 0.17.5 release
didn't seem to happen for GNOME-2.24.1 tarballs.

Thanks for the great upstream work!

------- Comment #8 From Christophe Saout 2008-10-29 15:16:29 0000 -------
This fix breaks copying&pasting from the alternate screen, e.h. what you get in
a "less" or any command line editor like nano or joe, which just plain sucks.
Please revert or fix correctly.

- execute "less somefile"
- Mark some text
- leave less (q)
- paste

-> fail

------- Comment #9 From Mart Raudsepp 2008-10-31 00:57:22 0000 -------
Sorry, I'm aware. Will deal with upstream on this over the weekend. You can
downgrade meanwhile, 0.17.4-r0 should still be there.

------- Comment #10 From Christophe Saout 2008-10-31 14:58:32 0000 -------
Chris Wilson has fixed the post-fix issue upstream.
