Actually, its a version bump, they freaking changed the RPM on me. Silly me, I shouldn't have linked against a versionless RPM. My bad. So, current RPM in tree is 11.0.0.4028 Current RPM from website is 11.0.1.1056

Ok, this workaround might work for someone. It worked for me... I have more than one gentoo box. I copied /usr/portage/distfile/Realplay.... to the /usr/.../distfile on the box I wanted to install it on and re-emerged. Since the file is there and has the correct checksum everything works out just fine... I am unsure of whether you can download the correct version from some official realplay source but if you can find the file and give it the correct name this is a way to get it working.
Until ebuild is updated to current official RealPlayer ... I found a source for the .rpm in the ebuild. http://www.4shared.com/get/47077842/bb91a338/RealPlayer11GOLD.html

But, there's a simple way to resolve this : 1) Download (as you want), the current file RealPlayer11GOLD.rpm and put it in portage dist directory. For sample, I download today (on http://software-dl.real.com/147511a6b136a517cc21/unix/RealPlayer11GOLD.rpm ) this one : 8767186 oct. 14 23:16 /usr/portage/distfiles/RealPlayer11GOLD.rpm 2) Adjust the size of this rpm in the Manifest file : # cd /usr/portage/media-video/realplayer/ # ebuild realplayer-11.0.0.4028-r1.ebuild manifest >>> Creating Manifest for /usr/portage/media-video/realplayer Then, the emerge will work. Note, the best way should to replace the Manifest file in the portage tree. If useful, I've attached the Manifest file created as described.
