Description Roy Marples 2008-09-26 09:38:58 UTC
net-misc/dhcpcd-4.0.1 has been in the tree for over 30 days, without any serious defects reported. It has many fixes and improvements over dhcpcd-3.2.3, the current stable version. dhcpcd-4.0.1-r1 has a small patch to ensure that -I '' doesn't send a ClientID instead of incorrectly sending a blank one - the patch is trivial and should not affect being marked stable.

Also, the new project page for dhcpcd is http://roy.marples.name/projects/dhcpcd
And the new download URL is http://roy.marples.name/downloads/dhcpcd/dhcpcd-4.0.1.tar.bz2
Please update the ebuild accordingly :)

Thanks!

Sorry to re-add, but 4.0.1 had a bug with USE=compat that was late to the party and nobody found after 30 days in ~arch.

Specifically, all the compat options to skip the scripts didn't actually get run.
It also fixes a bug with renew/lastlease.

It's probably good to get into stable very soon, so that anybody using the compat options and not wanting their ntp/resolv/yp clobbered is safe.
