Description Paolo Pedroni 2008-09-04 16:33:24 UTC
Today I installed a binary package for kipi-plugins, built on a system with a full KDE 3.5.9 installation on a system which runs XFCE4 and only has a few KDE3 packages (kdm, konqueror, kcalc and their dependencies). After the installation I ran "revdep-rebuild -p" and it yielded the following:

# revdep-rebuild -p

All prepared. Starting rebuild...

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] media-plugins/kipi-plugins-0.1.4-r1

I think this is wrong, as neither libkcal nor ktnef are dependencies of kipi-plugins.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Build media-plugins/kipi-plugins on a machine with full KDE installation
2. Move binary package on machine with only handful of KDE packages and install
3. revdep-rebuild

Actual Results:
kipi-plugins depends on libkcal and ktnef

Expected Results:
kipi-plugins should not depend on libkcal and ktnef

It's now a hard dependency in 0.1.4-r2. Newer versions have a configure flag.
