Description James 2008-07-31 16:54:34 UTC
in configuration of the build, it errors out:
"checking for a Python interpreter with version >= 2.5... none
configure: error: no suitable Python interpreter found"
I've got a system running 2.4, because of certain dependencies (Frets on Fire), but the webpage (http://xcb.freedesktop.org/DevelopersGuide/) doesn't list python 2.5 as a dependency, is it really a dependency or is there a quick fix for this?
Thanks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge -1aav x11-proto/xcb-proto-1.2 (with python 2.4)
2.configure fails.
3.

Comment 1 Wormo (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-07-31 19:07:35 UTC
version 1.2 of xcb-proto added python libraries, and a new check to configure.ac looking for python 2.5 specifically. Sounds like it really is a new dependency that needs to be added both to the XCB project page and the ebuild.
Comment 2 Donnie Berkholz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-08-03 08:34:18 UTC
It's a real dep. Fixed, thanks for reporting.

You should be able to have 2.4 and 2.5 installed at once, so you can keep your old thing going too.
