That patch was introduced by Flameeyes to fix bug 159584. I've now changed "sparc" into "__sparc__", so that it can be applied again now. However, I have no way to test if it still does the correct thing for FreeBSD/Sparc. Therefore reassigning to BSD team.
The CVS upstream seems to have changed again and now this is working again for me. I simply did "sudo emerge emacs-cvs". No local changes made.
> The CVS upstream seems to have changed again and now this is working again > for me. No, it's because I've updated the patch: 09 Jul 2008; Ulrich Mueller <ulm@gentoo.org> +files/emacs-cvs-freebsd-sparc-1.patch, emacs-cvs-23.0.9999.ebuild: Update patch for sparc-fbsd, bug 231243.
Uh, I see. I mis-read your previous comment. My apologies and more importantly - thanks!
I had to put this fix also in the pretest version for Emacs 22.3, i.e. app-editors/emacs-cvs-22.2.90. BSD team, please test this one, too.
Let's consider this as fixed. @bsd: Please reopen if there are any issues on sparc.
