Description:   Opened: 2008-07-06 19:48 0000
After updating grub to version 0.97-r6 I got the following message:

 * *** IMPORTANT NOTE: you must run grub and install
 * the new version's stage1 to your MBR. Until you do,
 * stage1 and stage2 will still be the old version, but
 * later stages will be the new version, which could
 * cause problems such as an unbootable system.

Most users are supposed to see this message this times. Maybe it would be
helpful to add a URL describing how to install the new version's stage1 to the
MBR. I would propose this one:
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-amd64.xml?part=1&chap=10#grub-install-auto

This would help users avoid the 15 minutes it took me to find this explanation
;-)

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -u grub

Actual Results:
 * *** IMPORTANT NOTE: you must run grub and install
 * the new version's stage1 to your MBR. Until you do,
 * stage1 and stage2 will still be the old version, but
 * later stages will be the new version, which could
 * cause problems such as an unbootable system.

Expected Results:
 * *** IMPORTANT NOTE: you must run grub and install
 * the new version's stage1 to your MBR. Until you do,
 * stage1 and stage2 will still be the old version, but
 * later stages will be the new version, which could
 * cause problems such as an unbootable system.
 * For installing stage1 see:
